[Phono-L] Shipping info needed

In my experience, the least expensive shipping for large articles like this
is by Forward Air. Here's their website:

http://www.forwardair.com/

This is a trucking service that specializes in ground transport from one
airport to another. But I don't think they handle retail business. Some
furniture and antique dealers have accounts with them, so you might check
with a dealer to see if you can get connected with Forward Air. If you use
them, you will have to arrange for the packing and crating yourself. Then
Forward Air will deliver to the closest airport to you that they serve, and
you'll have to arrange for pickup at the airport. But it's about half the
cost of any other service I've seen, so it was worth it for me when I had a
Victor 10-35 shipped from New Mexico to Charlotte, NC.

Subject: [Phono-L] Shipping info needed

I am interested in having two large cylinder record cabinets and other large
phono items shipped from New Orleans to Atlanta. Does anyone have
experience in shipping items like this, and could offer suggestions on the
least expensive way to do it. I recall seeing posts about persons that
transport victrolas, etc., but don't have names available. Anyone have
experience with Craters & Freighters or Nationwide Delivery Systems, or
similar?
Thanks for your help.

Ray
