[Phono-L] mystery tone arm and reproducer

Are  you saying that the diaphragm is stamped with that information?  If
not, how can you be sure someone has not replaced the original diaphragm
with something that works, in this case, cardboard.    It was not easy to
get replacement parts 40 years ago.

I have a very strange tone arm and reproducer.  The diaphragm appears to be
made of cardboard.  It's stamped 'J.H. ELLIS Melodious Music-Master' and has
a patent date of 1916-1919.
