There is a new product on the market called Zero Odor -- it works by chemically interacting with the smell atoms and neutralizing them.  So it doesn't mask the odor -- it actually eliminates them and leaves almost no odor when it's done.  You can read more about it and buy it here: http://www.zeroodorstore.com/   I'd spray it on some material and rub it on the finish in an unobtrusive spot to test the finish before spraying it inside.
