Jerry, I had never heard of Ira Dueltgen until Tim and I were in the Portland area in November 2005 shooting items for our books.? It was clear from the 10 collectors we visited (including you, Jerry!) that Ira was a legend around there.? Unfortunately, Ira was gone by then, but his wife Dottie was very much alive and well.? I was utterly charmed by her, and if Ira was anything like his wonderful wife, he must have been quite a guy.? I'm sorry I never had the chance to know him.
