The Victrola 130 was actually a renamed Victor XVII, one of the most elegant of all the Victor floor models. Is this one in Oak or mahogany? Actually there were also some in Japanese laquer as well. Only 5260 of the spring driven models were ever produced, so it is not that common. I am not sure what you should offer, but it would be a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron L'Herault" <lherault at bu.edu> To: "'Antique Phonograph List'" <phono-l at oldcrank.org> Sent: Sunday, January 13, 2008 8:47 PM Subject: RE: [Phono-L] Re: Billy Murray Song Wanted and What About a 130-Thanks! Hope all on the group here have had a great weekend! When watching old movies on TCM or AMC, I am always looking for that vintage wind-up. I don't know about you all, but I search for these things even when watching television! Well, my six year old daughter and I watched Harold Lloyd's Get Out and Get Under today and really enjoyed it. What was so neat is that she recognized the tune as one that I had played before...that being Billy Murray's He'd Have to Get Out and Get Under! Wanting to play the song on our wind 'er up, I went to the stack and could not find it. I have searched the house over and cannot locate it. Would any of you have a copy of this record? If so, please let me know. I would be glad to purchase it from you. I have many 78s and may have something that you'd like. Back to the Lloyd collection, my family gave me the four disc set several years ago for Christmas and it is so fun to pull out from time to time to watch an episode. Looking at those streets and stores back in the 1910s and 20s, one can only imagine one of those stores being a Victor Dealer and selling a family a quality Victor horn machine or Victoria! I can just imagine a family proudly taking their Victor, VI home to play. This group is known to have much knowledge on antique phonographs. Please advise on what I found last week. I spotted a nice Victoria 130 in an antique shop in Charlotte, N.C. It was simply beautiful and looked as well as it played. It had the No. 2 reproducer and all. The owner of the shop was out and the person watching the store did not know what he wanted for it. If I do go back, and it is still there, what would be a good price? As always, thanks much for the fellowship and information/assistance that you may offer! Have a fantastic week.
