Yes, I have Sutton/Nauck's book. It's a great book. In fact, I've been in touch with Allan Sutton about Majestic and he made some changes to the article on his website to fix some mistakes and references my website now in the article. He did make a mistake in changing it but it hasn't been fixed yet (he wrote "Majestic Record Company, Incorporated" instead of "Majestic Phonograph Company, Incorporated"). This article is what I was referring to when I said I found some information but it turned out to have mistakes. BTW, Allan says the book will have a new edition out in 2009. The article I'm referring to is at: http://www.mainspringpress.com/little.html Referring this all back to phonographs now - although they were very minor brands a number of the vertical brands were affiliated with companies that also made phonographs (Majestic not being one of them per my other post), Fraad, Crescent, Mozart, Rishell and Empire are ones that come to mind. I mention Harrolla on my website, made by King Talking Machine, and have never come across one. I had a beautiful 1919 Sonora upright (not the elaborate one with the wooden tonearm or anything, but a really nice one nonetheless, in amazing original condition), but it couldn't make the trip from TX to Nashville with me in '99, so a friend has it on display in their living room. I wish I had it now because I've since found an original sapphire ball stylus, and now I have no swivel-soundbox phonograph to use it with. And I've amassed a substantial collection of vertical records to play in the last 8 years!
