I've been an ebay user for quite some time. It seems like they're more and more interested in catering to small commercial firms that offer "buy it now" and auctions for things you could pick up at Walmart, rather than hobbyiests that are using the site to look for unusual collectables. My prediction is that you might find some social networking sites crop up for people interested in specific areas, like music, that have auctions and sales by members as part of what they offer. Then, you could actually have a service that would let you set up easy automated searches for esoteric items. It's a lot of work to find what you're interested in on ebay if you're an intermediate or advanced collector of a large area like phonographs and records - the interface just doesn't let you dig down to what you want and gives you too many or too few results. There's someone in my apartment complex who's an ebay addict that is picking up extra money by getting lists of things people are interested in and charging for doing regular searching and digging for them. Just my two cents. Randy
