[Phono-L] OT - Ebay rebellion

I totally agree with all of you. I too have worked extremely hard to provide
above average packaging, good delivery times, and prompt communications as an
effort to wow my ebay customers and suppliers in order to keep my 100%
feedback rating. It is a no win situation. If I, or others like me, send in due
negative feedback to a buyer or seller, you know without a doubt that they are
going to send in a nasty unwarranted feedback. The feedback systems is pretty
much a joke when it comes to negative feedback.

The ones that just kill me are the dead beat buyers. This is the sorry no
good buyer that will out bid a great buyer at the last minute and will never pay
for the item. Has this ever happened to anyone? You send email after email,
and still never hear anything from them. Ebay still gets all of their fees,
etc.

I have also heard of some bad situations with ebay and paypal in which folks
never get their item(s). Ebay has this 'we will take care of you' policy, but
when it comes to coming though, well, forget it. The most common excuse from
the seller is that the item got lost in the mail. The poor mail system gets
the blame every time.

Always remember...Ebay is after one thing...MONEY! At one time, ebay was a
fantastic site to buy, sell, and to meet some great friends in the hobby, and
at a reasonable price. I have sold items and after ebay got all of their fees
and paypal got their fee, I practically gave the item away. I bet if the
average ebayer adds up the time spent to place the ad, the time spent to respond
to communications, the time spent to package the item, the money spent to buy
the packaging material, the money spent for gas to go to the post office, and
the time spent standing in line to mail the item, and the money ebay and paypal
took, the ebayer would say, I did not make as much as I thought I'd make.

I have decided to stop giving my hard earned stuff away. I personnaly like
show and swap meets. One can actually see and try an item out before it is
bought.

Thanks to the ebay top dogs, ebay started getting greedy. You know, when you
get your first billion, you just gotta get that second! Because of this
greed, many people have said, 'The ....with it" and found other avenues to buy and
sell. Craig's List is an example, and it is free! Sure, there are some
short comings with Craigs and the other avenues, but nothing is perfect.

I can't stand the way ebay also threatens the seller or buyer..."DO NOT BUY
OFF LINE, OR ELSE....!!!

In all fairness, I liked ebay at one time and have been happy with the
transactions that I have been involved with, both as a seller and a buyer. I have
bough much more that I have sold sad to say. I feel that these sudden changes
with management and policy may be a 'knee jerk' reactions to the lagging
profits over the last year or so. A company can get only so big for so long before
the customers get enough and say, "It's time for me to opt for other options.
I don't need you anymore!" Maybe ebay needs the customer more than the
customer needs ebay for once.

One of these days the same will be true for the likes of Wal-Mart.....
