I have a very good friend that wants to sell his Edison home under glass. He has asked me to list it on eBay or sell it any other way I could, as he needs the money. I believe that he is asking a very fair price based on the condition , etc, so thought I would offer it up to the list first. He lives approximately 2 1/2 hours from me and I will not be picking it up and inspecting it for a week or so. He is asking $3,750.00 for it. The last ones i have seen sell went for around $5000+. I have not seen this machine for some time so my description is from memory and talking to him. The case has been refinished , and while the glass is old the woodwork on the glass lid has all been very professionally replaced with old quartered oak. I can't remember for sure if the pulls are original or replaced and he does not know , nor since he is elderly can he describe them to me very well so i can make a judgment, I am pretty sure though that they are not the original ones. The below cylinder cabinet is the standard HS cabinet , but it does not have the applied carving above the top drawer as i have seen on most of them. i has the pressed design that you generally see on the cylinder cabinet alone. It is however my understanding and in looking a HS big picture ad I believe that the Hm UG originally could have been offered with this style cabinet also. The Home model A's bed plate as i remember it is in fair condition , but certainly presentable. I am told it had taken a beating in a shed with the lid off prior to his purchase about 10 years ago. I don't remember the crank, but know it is not the normal nickel crank which came with these. He has a repo horn with it. I believe this is a really good deal and if i didn't have a real nice one already I would be buying it. I think this is a great opportunity to buy one at a reasonable price, if you have a desire to own one. By the way all money is going to him I have not added anything on for my troubles.
