Thanks for posting that, Norman. Dave was quite simply the finest man in the hobby, generous to a fault and a supremely fun guy. There was a time when my business travel made it possible for me to visit him 2 or 3 times a year, and for almost a decade I made it a point to travel cross-country to attend his annual Columbus Day weekend phonograph party, up to the last one in 2003. That was truly the highlight of each year. Dave is sorely missed and I doubt we'll ever see a collection like his again. Not only was it world-class in terms of the collection itself, but also its presentation. And it was by no means limited just to phonographs. His collection of Edison documents, lightbulbs, generators, and other Edisonia was without peer.
