Clearly, there's a difference, so the question is "did some of this model horn originally have sections patched in while others did not?" In taking a closer look at your Horn A, what seems a bit odd is that the patched in areas (for the most part) have grain that opposes the direction of the surrounding grain, AND the coloring is different. I would have expected a somewhat more uniform hue to the whole horn. On the other hand, one of these lighter sections has what appears to be an original decal in worn condition, which if it IS original would not be on a section that was patched in more recent years UNLESS the decal was "aged" to give it a more authentic appearance. Beyond these observations, I'm out of my league in determining originality of a Victor wood horn, so hopefully others on this list will add their learned opinions.
