A Vitaphone , it is.  I have one with the horn in the lid, but they were made so 
that an external horn could be attached;  sounds great with an Edison cygnet horn!

I think that the outside horn machine with the DD record may have
been a Pathé.  They made a machine where the "tone arm" carried the
stylus movements through a rod to a diaphragm placed further back and
this tone arm seemed to be of that type.
