The BZH was just what the name implied, a "hornless" version of the Columbia BZ. Note the chamfering of the corners, in the fashion of the BZ. Of course, the BZ was made in a mahogany finish and the BZH is oak, but they both hail from that period (1911 - 13) in which Columbia discovered it could get double service out of some of its inexpensive machines by creating either horn or hornless models out of them (as in the last version of the Standard Disc Talking Machine Model A, in which the cabinet it high enough to accommodate an internal horn, as needed). Although the BZ was simply an inexpensive Disc Graphophone, the BZH was more likely a client machine.
