Steady application of heat from a hair blow drier might work if you have any reason to believe that humidity could be playing a role in the swelling, although that seems rather unlikely given your location. I once ran into a situation where someone had driven in a small finishing nail through the lip in front of the lower part of the grille, to pin it in place. The head was so small that it was hard to spot. Other obvious measures include inserting the thinnest of putty knife blades that you can find between the grill and the groove at the front (and if the grille cloth isn't intact or original, through the grille and at the rear, to break loose any place where it might be adhering.
