[Phono-L] Stanton Auction

I was at the auction. There was a lot of "auction fever" going on. There
were a few bidding wars. Thus, any realized prices should always be
viewed with caution! Anyone who receieved a catalog typically gets a
list of prices realized. Also, remember that with this auction, there
was a 10% buyer's premium, and 6% Michigan sales tax. The tax is on the
"hammer price" PLUS the buyer's premium, effectively raising the hammer
price by 16.6%. If someone shares a realized price list, I hope they
tell us if this is "hammer price" or if it includes the 10% buyer's
premium.

On a separate note, before the auction I was fortunate enough to talk
with Peter Dilg about the Zonophone Eclipse. He has the only other
complete example that we know of. Anyone that has information about this
machine, please contact me through the list or at Jeffryy at Prevea.com

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, I am sure that some member of the list is busy right now,
preparing a
detailed list for those of us who were unable to attend. That is the
wonderful thing about this hobby. There are so many great folks out
there
who take the time and the effort to share this sort of information with

their fellow collectors.

I hope so too. Hopefully the Rolfs. While realized prices are helpful,
it's
the reports on the events (who attend, photos of other collectors, and
the
items) that I find most interesting. Stanton usually published all
realized
prices (I think) but the other details are only available from those who

attended. And this auction had special interest to nipper collectors.
