Last weekend my wife found a Feb 1947 issue of The Etude. On the front cover is a picture of Edison with Sousa and Cooke. An inside article has a neat little story that I thought some of you may appreciate. His (Edison's) lack of convention and his language (always utterly frank, to put it mildly) endeared him to all who knew him. Once, at a social gathering where he was more or less isolated by his extreme difficulty in hearing, he was obviously bored and when approached by a young lady who said, "Mr Edison, is there anything I can get for you?" he smiled and said, "Yes, I wish you would bring me a nice, affecitonate dog." A man after my own heart. <:)> Wayne H --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates.
